Fractional CFO for Physical Therapy Practices

Your practice is growing.

So why does it feel like you're always short on cash?

Growth shouldn't feel like you're about to run out of money.

New patients are coming in.

You're hiring to keep up.

But payroll is eating everything.

Your payroll percentage looks scary, and you're not sure if it's a problem or just growing pains.

You need cash to keep growing, and you don't know which loan, line of credit or other option makes sense.

This year, two physical therapists we work with hit the same wall.

Both practices were growing fast.

Both were cash-poor because of it.

Payroll was running high, and that was worrying.

So we walked through the numbers together.

New hires cost money before they make money.

As they start producing, that payroll percentage comes down.

We also compared loans and other ways to bring in cash, so the growth has fuel instead of stalling out.

For both, payroll has come down.

And both practices are keeping a healthy profit from every month's revenue.

What we help you figure out

  • When a high payroll percentage is normal, and when it's a real problem
  • How long a new hire takes to pay for themselves
  • How much cash you need to get through a growth spurt
  • Which loans or other funding options fit your practice, and which to avoid
  • What you can safely pay yourself while you grow

What therapists say

"I also greatly appreciate his HR and attorney referrals, as well as his constant encouragement whenever I felt uneasy taking on bigger steps in my business."
Justine D., Occupational Therapist

Plenty of busy practices run out of cash.

Not because they weren't growing.

Because they grew faster than their cash could keep up.

Picture this instead.

Hire with confidence.

Know when each new therapist will start paying for themselves.

Fund your growth on purpose, not in a panic.

Build a practice that's busy and profitable.

Questions

Do you work with practices that take insurance?

Yes. Most therapists we work with are hybrid: they take one or two insurance companies and do private pay for the rest. That's normal. Insurance pays slower and less predictably, so we plan your cash around both.

Do you help with loans?

We don't lend money. We help you compare your options and figure out what your practice can actually afford, before you sign anything.

How is this different from my bookkeeper?

A bookkeeper records what happened. A CFO helps you decide what happens next.

Do you work with my CPA?

Yes. We work alongside any CPA. If you don't have one, we can refer you to someone we trust.
