It's Not That You're Stuck. Everything Still Depends on You.

I was on a call recently with a practice owner who felt like things had slowed down.

Revenue wasn't dropping. Patients were still coming in. On paper, everything looked fine.

But it felt heavier, like every dollar required more effort than it used to.

We walked through a few things: schedule, team, structure. Nothing was "broken."

But there was a pattern: everything still flowed through them.

Every decision. Every question. Every adjustment.

At one point, I said, "It's not that you're stuck. It's that everything still depends on you."

You could almost feel the shift on the other side of the call, because that's a very different problem.

Being stuck feels like you don't have options.

Being the bottleneck means you've actually built something that works. You just haven't built it to run without you yet.

That's where many practice owners sit longer than they need to.

They keep trying to solve it the same way they always have: by pushing a little harder, working a little more, and staying a little more involved.

But that approach has a ceiling.

And once you hit it, growth doesn't stop dramatically. It just gets heavy.

What I've been seeing more of lately is clients recognizing that earlier.

They're asking different questions:

• Not "How do I do more?"
• But "How do I design this so I don't have to?"

That's a completely different level of thinking.

And once you start operating from there, things don't just grow.

They get lighter again.
