Something Shifted: When Effort Starts to Compound
May 08, 2026There are certain months where you get off a call and feel heavy.
Not because anything is wrong, but because everything feels like work. Every decision takes energy. Every next step feels a little forced.
This spring wasn't that.
I had a stretch of calls where I got off and thought, something is different right now.
One client, who a few months earlier was stuck in analysis mode, came in with a completely different posture. Instead of "What should I do?" it was "Here's what I'm thinking. Help me refine it."
Another was testing new ideas. Not perfectly, not fully built out, but moving. Taking action, getting feedback, and adjusting.
Even the tone shifted: more curiosity, more energy, more ownership.
And it wasn't just one person. It showed up across the board.
That's the part that caught my attention.
Because at your stage as a practice owner, growth doesn't usually stall because you don't have options. It stalls because everything feels heavier than it should.
And then, seemingly out of nowhere, it lifts.
Not because the business changed overnight, but because you did.
You've been making decisions. Cleaning things up. Learning how to think differently about your numbers, your time, and your structure.
And eventually, it compounds.
That's what it felt like: compounding effort finally turning into forward motion.
If you're feeling that right now, lean into it. This is not the time to slow down and "protect" it. This is the time to build on it.
And if you're not quite there yet, don't read this and think you're behind.
You're just earlier in the process.
Because once it clicks, it tends to show up exactly like this.
